Drivers across Fife are facing major traffic disruption as the first signs of the new Forth Crossing work begins on the M90. The hard shoulder on both directions between Halbeath junction and Admiralty Junction has been closed and a 40mph speed limit has been put in place due to narrow lanes.

Speed cameras have been put in place to measure vehicle speeds during the length of the roadworks.

Fife’s road users will find up to date information on the website.

CI David McCulloch, Fife Constabulary said: “At this very early stage of change to the roads network Fife Constabulary road policing Oofficers will monitor speeds to ensure the initial work is completed safely.”

The roadworks are due to end in July 2012.
