Fears have been raised that Rosyth’s sea freight service to Europe may be under threat once again.
DFDS Seaways runs the freight service from the Fife port but has reduced the number of scheduled sailings from four to three.
Alan Hull, spokesman for DFDS Seaways, poured cold water on fears, saying: “We reduced the services due to the volume of custom, but I do not know where the suggestions we are running down the services have come from.”
He added: “We are committed to the route but obviously we need to make it profitable.”
DFDS took over the running of the service to Zeebruge from Norfolk Line.
