For Serendipi-Tea, this was the first time staff have tasted success.

Owner Fiona Buchan said she worked harder and tried to improve following her finalist position last year.

Describing the moment she won, Fiona said: “It was really exciting and overwhelming.

“I hoped it would be good news, but I didn’t expect to win.”

To celebrate and thank the customers for their support, the cafe gave out free slices of cake and offered discounts on Friday and Saturday.

Fiona added: “I would like to thank the staff. They are so good and so loyal. And I’d like to thank the customers and the village.

“They really embraced the shop when it opened. Everyone has been so welcoming.”
