Cadets from all over Levenmouth came together to celebrate Burns Night at the weekend.

At a special party at TS Ajax, the Methil Sea Cadets and Leven Air Cadets – with staff representatives from the army cadets – enjoyed a traditional Burns supper, haggis included, the first time the three groups have joined together for an event.

As well as tucking into some delicious grub, the cadets were all treated to a performance by the Sarah Hendry dancers, who did some traditional Highland dancing.

The cadets and staff welcomed VIP guests Captain Jim Leggat from the Air Cadets, as well as local councillor Charles Haffey, armed forces champion for Fife Council.

PO Kevin Watters of the Sea Cadets said: “It was a fantastic evening. We would like to pass on our thanks to Stuart’s the butchers for providing the haggis, and also to ex-Cpl George McKinnon who gave up his time to be our chef for the evening.”
