Car crashes into central reservation on Kirkcaldy Esplanade

A man has been charged following a crash on Kirkcaldy Esplanade on Wednesday morning.

A car collided with the central reservation outside the back entrance to the Mercat Shopping Centre near to its junction with Tolbooth Street, around 7.20am.

An ambulance and the fire service attended. No other vehicle was involved and no serious injuries were sustained.

A police spokesman said: “Police in Fife were called to the Esplanade in Kirkcaldy around 7.20am on Wednesday after a Vauxhall Corsa collided with the central reservation.

“Thankfully, no one was injured and a 35-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Drivers experienced a short delay while the vehicle was removed from the scene.
