Fire crews in Anstruther had to extinguish a car fire which broke out in the harbour car park on Sunday morning.
Crews were alerted to the blaze in the carpark opposite the Lifeboat Station at 9.41 a.m. and one appliance attended at the scene. The fire was extinguished by 11.08 a.m.
Although there was only one vehicle involved – a blue Renault Megane – local residents claimed to see plumes of black smoke rising from the harbour area as the crew worked on putting out the blaze.
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed that the fire started because of an electrial fault and there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
