Charity drop aids veterans

FRIENDS of Leven soldier Sgt Paul Cooper reached the heights when he ‘roped’ them in on a fundraising venture.

With a bit of help from a couple of army pals, Paul had aunt Casey Page, Methilhill, and friends Steph Gardiner, Leven, and Sharon Hynd, Lower Methil, abseiling 165 feet down the Forth railway bridge recently to raise £1150 for Erskine, the veterans’ organisation which has been caring for ex-Servicemen and women in Scotland for almost 100 years.

“It was a great day and and the weather was beautiful so we had stunning views at the top,” said Paul, who serves in 3 Scots Black Watch.

“I’d like to thank everyone who helped raise the money, in particular Gardiner Windows and Dawsons Amusements for their generous donations.”
