Cheque out Christmas in summer

Knitters, quilters and other needle workers made Christmas decorations in all shapes and sizes, and the group received baubles, garlands, table runners and decorations made out of pompoms.

During the arts festival in August, the creations were sold for charity.

Previous projects have included fish, tea cosies, hats, flowers, cushions, winter warmers and owls.

The money raised this year, a total of £2242. is going to the Maggie’s Centre and Crossroads – both Fife-based charities – and the presentation was made on Tuesday at Art@47 in Pittenweem’s High Street.

Pittenweem Arts Festival Community Craft Projects have raised a total of £16,292 for Scottish and local charities over the past eight years.

At the Fife Voluntary Action’s annual awards 2014, the project was runner-up for the Partnership Award.
