A KINGHORN couple who have known each other all their lives have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Love blossomed between Jim and Sheila Basham when they used to run the scouts and guides groups in the village.
Not long after the two were married in Kinghorn Parish Church on March 31, 1951 surrounded by family and friends - with their best man and bridesmaid helping them celebrate their diamond anniversary this week.
The couple said the secret to the sparkle in their relationship has been making each other laugh.
Sheila (85), said: “We have had an awful lot of laughs in our lives. Like everyone we’ve had our knocks but we have always had good times.”
“We had a lot in common,” added Jim (88), “and we still do - we have always been friends.”
After the war Jim worked for Mackintosh Furniture in Kirkcaldy for 48 years, while Sheila worked for Kinghorn Bottle Works as well as working in a solicitors office.
Both were involved in the guides and scouts in Kinghorn for many years.
