Choir leads the way as Asda turn on the lights

There was a day of celebration at Asda Kirkcaldy as they switched on their Christmas lights.

Fife Flyers Danny Stewart and Matt Nickerson were joined by a choir from St Maries Primary school to sing a selection of yuletide favourites.

Customers were also entertained by a string quintet from Kirkcaldy High and there was a stall specially set up to provide face painting and hand out balloon animals to children.

Kirkcaldy MSP David Torrance joined in the festive fun and paid tribute to everyone taking part.

“It was an excellent day,” he said.

“It was great to see the choir from St Maries here - they were fantastic, I just hope they weren’t distracted by my singing!

“It’s a great community event and Asda have been doing this sort of thing throughout the year.

“The work they do here for the community is amazing and I’m just so impressed. Well done to eveyone involved here today.” (Pic by George McLuskie)
