The votes were cast and counted and the winners of the Kinghorn Scarecrow Trail 2014 have been announced!
Winner in the adult category was Chris Donnelly with his entry ‘Bloody Windy’, whilst in the children’s category there was a tie; the Murray Family with ‘The Gruffalo’ and Cody MacDonald with his ice hockey inspired entry, ‘The Fife Flyer’.
The winners were announced at the Kinghorn Village Show at the weekend.
63 scarecrows of all shaped and sizes were entered for this year’s competition, almost double the amount in 2013, and Liz Mitchell from Kinghorn In Bloom, one of the organisers, said she was amazed at the response and the amount of thought and invention that had gone into each entry.
“We had such a wonderful response from the most amazingly creative people in the town,” she said.
“The imagination that went into this year’s scarecrows is just fantastic.
“We’ve had messages on the ‘Kinghorn Photos’ Facebook page from people who live outside the town saying that they wish that they could have come to see them.
“People have been saying that they really brightened up the town along with the flowers that Kinghorn In Bloom put out around the place.
“It’s definitely going to be a permanent fixture and it can only grow and grow!”
