Christ’s Kirk to mark Queen’s jubilee

A GLENROTHES church has unveiled plans to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

Christ’s Kirk will be holding an all day party on June 5, for which the dress theme will be ‘red, white and blue’.

Tickets cost £15 and cover morning coffee and biscuits, a buffet lunch, afternoon tea, sandwiches and - of course - some ‘bubbly’ to toast the monarch’s 60 years on the throne.

Spokeswoman Anne Crombie said the church had also marked the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton last spring, adding: “If you liked our celebration of the royal wedding, you will love our celebration of the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

On Friday, the Pitcoudie Avenue church is staging an exhibition of wedding dresses covering the period from the 1950s to the present day, and there will also be a fashion show featuring dresses designed by Christine Davie who has a salon in Markinch.

Tickets cost £4 for adults, £for children and refreshments will be available.

All proceeds of the event, which starts at 7.30pm, will go to church funds.
