Two local events have been organised to educate people in Levenmouth about door step crime.

The proposal for the first ‘Cold Call Zone’ in Levenmouth is well under way, with particular focus on the Dubbieside area of Methil.

The success of this zone, is reliant on the support of the residents of Dubbieside

The first consultation event took place on Monday evening, with a second event planned for tomorrow (Thursday) at the Jeek Fleming Suite at Bayview Stadium, Methil, between 6.00 - 8.00 p.m.

All residents of Dubbieside, and their families are invited to find out how the zone will assist them in stopping doorstep crime and how the police, trading standards, fire service and Fife Council can support them.

Police Sergeant Colin Falconer, said: “This has shown to be a good prevention strategy, reducing the level of doorstep crime activities and providing additional support to vulnerable members of the community.

“The success of this zone, is reliant on the support of the residents of Dubbieside. With this in mind I hope they are able to attend these consultation days to see how our partners can help to reduce bogus crime in their area.”
