Levenmouth police officers who suffered injuries on duty have received goodwill messages from local people.

Two separate incidents in Leven recently resulted in four officers going to hospital for observation or receiving treatment, although none was seriously hurt and all were soon back at work.

Two policemen were checked in hospital for the effects of carbon monoxide fumes after investigating an incident involving attempted self-harm at a house in the town.

Two other officers – one female – were injured in a violent outburst by an individual while they were responding to a disturbance at another property in Leven.

They were treated in hospital for minor injuries before being released.

A number of messages had been received from members of the public who had heard about the cases, through word of mouth or social media, and Levenmouth Community Inspector Donald Jenks said: “People are very supportive.”
