Concerns are growing for the well-being of missing Newport woman Susan Reid, who hasn’t been seen for over a week.

Mrs Reid (56), of Kerr Street, was last in touch with her family on Tuesday, January 21, but failed to turn up to work at Dundee University the following day.

Her disappearance is said to be ‘out of character’ for her and police are stepping up efforts to trace her.

Chief Inspector Adrian Annandale said: “A number of extensive searches have been carried out by specialist officers, with further searches and enquiries ongoing.

“Our concern for Susan continues to grow and I would urge anyone who knows of her current whereabouts, or may have seen her recently, to contact the police.

“Similarly, we would appeal to Susan to contact us directly so that we confirm she is safe and well.”

Susan is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with short blonde/greying hair.

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, or alternatively through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
