Two kind-hearted policemen came to the rescue of a family of ducks in St Andrews last week.
Video footage has surfaced of the two Police Scotland officers escorting the mother mallard duck and her nine ducklings along the busy Bridge Street on Wednesday, just feet away from passing traffic.
With their police escort keeping them safe, the family jumped through a hole in the wall - quite a drop for the little ducklings - and made their way to the Kinnessburn.
However, as locals and students well know, a couple of ducks waddling along the town’s busy main thoroughfares, into shops and making themselves at home in university grounds are a common sight.
The film emerged on Saturday and was quickly picked up by popular Facebook page Overheard in St Andrews.
