A Kingskettle woman whose windows were accidentally smashed by Fife Council workmen is celebrating a victory over the local authority.

The workmen were strimming the verge opposite Suzanne Watson’s house in Bankton Park in July when two of her windows were broken by flying rocks.

But the council refused to pay up for the damage, dismissing the incident as ‘an unavoidable accident’.

They also claimed that the verge had been checked for stones first - something that Suzanne disputed.

Now, however, the council has had a change of heart and accepted liability after all - and a delighted Suzanne is awaiting a cheque to reimburse her expenses and her full insurance premium.
