Kennoway residents are looking forward eagerly to another summer of festivities and fostering of community spirit.
The area’s Civic Week begins at the end of this month, topped by Carnival Day at Cotlands Park on Sunday, June 8.
Meantime, this year’s Lad and Lass have been elected, along with their attendants, and they’ve all been casting a gaze over the Civic Week diary.
The Lad and Lass’ investiture takes place with invited guests at Kennoway Primary School on May 30, while the kirkin’ ceremony, featuring readings from both of them, choral performances and a general blessing for the week to come, is on June 1 at St Kenneth’s Church.
A car treasure hunt, domino tournaments, tea bingo, tea dance, quiz night and pool tournament are among the Civic Week highlights, culminating in the Carnival at Cotlands Park, featuring the traditional procession and a host of regular attractions.
