Country star Jackie Storrar loses fight with cancer

Family, friends and fans of Kirkcaldy country music star Jackie Storrar have been saddened by news of her death after a six-year battle with cancer.

Husband Steve Thiebault announced her passing on Jackie’s Facebook page on Wednesday, September 14, saying she was “surrounded by love and slipped away peacefully in the night at Victoria Hospice in Kirkcaldy”.

Jackie had just launched her legacy album ‘Behind Her Eyes’ – made possible by a crowdfunding campaign supported by fans and members of the public to help raise money for Maggie’s Fife.

Her full career demonstrated a continued passion for sharing the joy of country music, which was recognised when she was inducted into the British Country Music Hall of Fame last October.

An inspiring artist and always positive person, Jackie’s legacy will live on in her music and the memories she created.
