Armed police swoop in Kirkcaldy street over weapon fears


Officers were alerted to reports of a man in possession of a firearm near Dunnikier Road last night.
Witnesses reported a heavy police presence in the Tiree Place area at around 6pm.

Hide AdPolice say a man has been arrested, but no charges have been brought at this point.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Around 6 pm on Sunday, 17 May, 2020, police received a report of a man believed to be in possession of a firearm in Dunnikier Road, Kirkcaldy.
“Police searched the area and a 24-year-old man was arrested at Tiree Place, Kirkcaldy.
“The man is currently in police custody pending further enquires.”
