Bikers taken to hospital after serious road crash in Cowdenbeath

A man and woman were taken to hospital following a serious road crash on a Fife road on Friday.

The incident happened on the A909 Kelty to Cowdenbeath road, near the junction with Gray Park, Cowdenbeath at around 11.50am.

A blue Ford Mondeo and a black motorcycle were involved.

Emergency services attended and the driver and passenger of the bike – a 66-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman – were taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

The road was closed until 5.45pm to allow police to carry out an investigation.

Officers are now appealing for any information in relation to the incident.

Road Policing Sergeant Stephen Quinn said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have a dash-cam and saw either of the vehicles prior to the crash.

"Please check back and see if there is any footage which could help with our enquiries."

Information can be provided to Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit via 101, quoting incident number 1329 of September 18, 2020.
