Blood dripping through ceiling sparks police investigation

A police investigation is underway after a man was discovered with a serious head injury in Methil.

Neighbours alerted emergency services yesterday afternoon, after blood was seen dripping through a ceiling from an upstairs flat.

Fire crews were forced to break into the property, where they discovered a 39 year-old with a head wound.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Fife were called to Den Walk in Methil at 2.40pm on Thursday, March 30 following a report of concern for a person.

“The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service forced entry to a flat and a 39-year-old man was found with a serious head injury.

“He was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, then the Western General in Edinburgh where he continues to receive treatment.

He added: “Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing, however at this time there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his injuries.”
