Boy charged after Lundin Links blaze

Police have charged a 12-year-old boy following the fire at Lundin Links Hotel on Saturday night.

The derelict hotel, which closed its doors in 2014, sustained serious damage after it was set alight and crews from across Fife were required to tackle the blaze.

Following inquiries the youth was charged and will now be reported to the Children’s Reporter.

Emergency services were called out at 7.53pm and firefighters had to use four hose-reel jets and thermal imaging cameras to handle the fire.

The stretch of Leven Road alongside the hotel was closed while the emergency services were in attendance.

Police Scotland would like to thank the public with their inquiries.
