Building collapses at Fife industrial estate

A building collapsed at a Fife industrial estate today, prompting emergency services to attend and check the area was safe.

The incident happened at Montgomery Drive this afternoon, at a scrap yard in Leven.

Police said that the building had not been in use at the time and thankfully no one was injured as a result of the collapse.

Firefighters also attended in the aftermath of this afternoon’s incident to ensure the area was safe.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.25pm on Friday, 11 December, officers in Leven received a report of a building having collapsed on Montgomery Drive.

“Emergency services were in attendance. The building is not currently in use and nobody was within at the time of the collapse.

“The SFRS are working to ensure the area is safe and secure and police are there to provide support. There is not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
