A convenience store in Cardenden has been broken into, with cash, booze and cigarettes stolen.

There was also significant damage caused to the Day To Day Store.

The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning, and police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Police say the break-in at the store in Cardenden Road happened around 3am.

A subsequent search of the property confirmed that a three-figure sum of money along with a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes were stolen.

Detective Sergeant Karen Muirhead, who is based in Dunfermline said: “The staff at the store are understandably very disappointed that someone has targeted their workplace and in doing so caused significant damage to the premises.

“We want to trace everyone involved in this crime as quickly as possible.

“I’d urge anyone who has information that can assist with our enquiries to come forward.”
She confirmed that a pane of glass was smashed during the break-in.

“This would have caused a lot of noise especially in the early hours,” she said.
