Drink-driver who hit two cars on Leslie High Street faces court

A driver who admitted hitting two cars on a Fife High Street and damaging them while under the influence behind the wheel has had his sentence deferred until March.

Grant Forbes, of Landels Street, Markinch appeared before Sheriff James Williamson at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Forbes, 26, admitted that on August 16, 2020 on Leslie High Street, he drove a car without due car and attention, failed to maintain a proper lookout and control of his vehicle, striking two motor vehicles and damaging them. He admitted committing the offence while on bail.

He further admitted on the same date and in the same place he drove a car after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath was 35 microgrammes. The legal limit is 22. He admitted committing the offence while on bail.

Sheriff Williamson opted to defer sentence until March 29 and disqualified him from driving in the meantime.
