Dysart man sentenced for possessing indecent images

A Dysart man has appeared in court for sentencing over downloading indecent images of children and bestiality.

David Young (51), of The Walk, previously admitted that between September 15 and 17 last year at his home he was in possession of indecent images of children. He also admitted a charge of being in possession of an extreme pornographic image depicting bestiality in an explicit and realistic way.

The images were found on a laptop computer taken by police in a raid on Young’s home where lived on his own, Dunfermline Sheriff Court was told.

There was a film which showed a woman having sex with a dog and other images involved young girls with adults.

Sheriff Charles Macnair said: “You had on your devices images of children and extreme pornography. The numbers were not significant but included a film which was in the highest level.”

Young was made subject of a Community Payback Order with three years’ supervision and 150 hours of unpaid work. The sheriff also imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for five years, which will include monitoring of devices by police.

Young was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.
