Fife boy in hospital after zebra crossing crash

A young boy is being treated in hospital this afternoon after an accident at a zebra crossing in Buckhaven, Fife.

The boy was injured in a collision involving a car at 10:30am, at the zebra crossing outside the Co-op on Methilhaven Road in Buckhaven.

It is understood that the child was with his mother and another youngster when the crash happened.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

A police spokesperson did not comment on his injuries but said: “The collision involved a car and a pedestrian.”

Methilhaven Road was closed following the accident.
