Fife man broke into home and stole TV and Sky box

A Buckhaven man who broke into houses in Methil has been jailed.

He stole a television and Sky Q box- and attempted to break into another house.

Leonard Collins, of Factory Road, appeared before Sheriff Grant McCulloch at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court who jailed him for 11 months.

Collins (39) admitted that on September 28, 2020 he broke into a house in Wellesley Road, Methil and stole a television, Sky Q box, passport, driving licence, a bank card, money and DVDs.

He also admitted that on the same date he forced open a patio door, using a spade or similar implement, and attempted to break into a house in Cowley Street, Methil with intent to steal.

At the same address in Cowley Street, he also forced open a lockfast shed and stole a spade, a quantity of tools, torches and car washing items.

He committed all offences while on bail having been granted bail at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on November 15, 2019.
