Fife man fined for assaulting police officer and carrying offensive weapon

A Fife man who admitted having an offensive weapon and assaulting a police constable has been fined £470.

Michael Burke, of Maple Gardens, Methil appeared before Sheriff James Williamson at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Burke, 20, admitted on January 19, 2020 at an address in Whyterose Terrace, Methil he had with him an offensive weapon, namely a wooden pole, without lawful authority.

Burke also admitted on the same date, in the same place he assaulted a police constable and kicked him.

Sheriff Williamson fined him a total of £470.
