Fife man fined for producing cannabis and exposing himself

A Glenrothes man who admitted producing cannabis and exposing himself in two town streets has been fined £400.

George Woods, of Glenwood Centre, appeared before Sheriff James Williamson at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Woods, 46, admitted that on May 17, 2019 at his home address he produced a controlled drug, namely cannabis, a class B drug, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

He further admitted that on September 28, last year, at Links Street and Pratt Street, Kirkcaldy, he conducted himself in a disorderly manner by entering the streets naked from the waist down with his private parts exposed and committed a breach of the peace.

The court heard the accused had produced four cannabis plants and in relation to the second charge, it heard a social work report had revealed there was no significant sexual element to Woods’ behaviour.

His defence agent said Woods was in a position to pay a financial penalty. Sheriff Williamson fined him £200 on each charge.
