Fife man jailed for threatening police with violence and stealing alcohol

Kevin O’Hare, of Earn Road, Kirkcaldy appeared before Sheriff James Williamson at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
O’Hare, 59, admitted on December 30, 2019 at Fife Council, Wemyssfield he behaved in an aggressive manner by repeatedly striking the window of an office, shouting, swearing and making abusive remarks. On the same date at Kirkcaldy Police Station he also admitted shouting, swearing at police, uttering homophobic remarks and threats of violence.

Hide AdHe admitted on the same date at Iceland in Minto Place, Glenrothes, he stole alcohol while on bail and on December 24, 2019 at Loco, St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy he admitted stealing a bottle of wine.
On February 22, 2020 at Aldi in McKenzie Street, Kirkcaldy he admitted stealing alcohol and a food item while on bail and on the same date at Kirkcaldy Police Station he admitted resisting, obstructing and hindering two police constables, struggling violently with them and lashing out with his arms while on bail.
On February 25, 2020 at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy and at Kirkcaldy Police Station he admitted behaving in a threatening manner by shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner, uttering abusive and homophobic remarks and threats of violence towards police officers.
On March 24, 2020 at an address in Sutherland Place, Kirkcaldy he shouted, swore, made threats, behaved in an aggressive manner and struggled with police officers while on bail.

Hide AdOn August 26, 2020 at R S McColl he admitted stealing alcohol and on September 10, 2020 at Tesco Express in Glenrothes he admitted stealing alcohol.
On September 17, 2020 at an address in Grainger Street, Lochgelly he admitted contacting Police Scotland on his mobile and made threats of violence, shouted swore and made threats of violence towards police officers while on bail.
On December 4, 2020 he admitted breaching bail conditions requiring him not to enter Kirkcaldy and at Asda, Carberry Road in the town he admitted stealing a bottle of Smirnoff vodka on that same date while on bail.
Sheriff Williamson sentenced him to 17 months in prison.
