Fife man tried to persuade 12-year old girl to send pictures 'in a state of undress'

A Fife man who admitted attempting to persuade a 12-year-old girl to send him pictures of herself in a state of undress has been placed under supervision for two years.

Greg Cessford, of Allan Street, Leslie appeared before Sheriff James Williamson at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Cessford, 22, admitted that on one occasion between April 27, 2020 and May 27, 2020 at his home address he caused a 12-year-old girl to look at a sexual image.

He further admitted that on one occasion between the same dates, he sent electronic communications of a sexual nature to a 12-year-old girl by Snapchat and in the course of those messages, attempted to induce her to send him pictures of herself in a state of undress.

Sheriff Williamson placed Cessford under supervision for two years as part of a Community Payback Order and he also placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for two years.
