Ryan McLachlan, who pleaded guilty by letter, had his case called recently at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

McLachlan, of Alexander Road, admitted that on April 24 this year he was found in the grounds of a house in Well Road, Glenrothes without lawful authority to be there so it may be reasonably inferred that he intended to commit theft there.

The Procurator Fiscal Depute told the court: “On April 24 this year, a witness observed the accused trying the door handle of a property and trying to get the door open. When the accused was challenged about what he was doing he said he was looking for a pub.

"He then started knocking on the door which was not answered. He then took off in a different direction further down the road.

"He opened a door to another property and was found standing in the living room. He walked back through the kitchen. Police were contacted and attended. They saw him walking out the door but they were not aware this was the individual they were looking for.
