Kimberley Mollison sent abusive messages to her partner who held on to her car after they split up, Dunfermline Sheriff Court was told.

Mollison, 31, of Balsusney Road, admitted that on various occasions between February 25 and 26 at Kirkburn Drive, Cardenden, she behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by persistently telephoning David Thomson, her previous partner, sent him text messages and left voicemail messages of a threatening nature.

Depute fiscal Alisdair Shaw said the messages sent by Mollison included, “I’m going to destroy you”, “You’re a dead man walking” and “You’re going to wish you were never born”.

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said, “While she appreciates that two wrongs don’t make a right, the background is that after her mother’s death she received a small inheritance and bought a car.

“She allowed her partner to use the vehicle. The relationship later broke down and he wouldn’t return the car.

“The car is still being pursued but now through the proper channels,” he added.

Sheriff Chris Shead imposed a £500 fine.
