Fine for Fife man who threw stones at windows of Kirkcaldy property

A Cardenden man who admitted throwing stones at windows at a Kirkcaldy property has been fined £200.

Reece Smith, of Carden Castle Park, appeared before Sheriff Pino Di Emidio at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Smith, 26, admitted on May 29 last year at an address in Mid Street, Kirkcaldy he maliciously threw and struck a quantity of windows there with stones, damaging the windows.

The court heard the incident happened when the accused turned up intoxicated at his former girlfriend’s address and when she refused to let him in, he reacted badly.

Sheriff Di Emidio heard the relationship has been over for a long time and that the accused has now moved on with his life.

Sheriff Di Emidio said: “You were at this address intoxicated and caused damage there.

"There has been a period of a deferred sentence which has been positive. Taking all the circumstances into I account I fine you £200.”
