A police investigation has been launched after the discovery of human remains at an industrial estate in Fife.

A large police presence has surrounded the area at Whitehill Industrial Estate in Glenrothes.

Forensic officers are expected on site on Monday morning. The area is sealed off.

Police said inquiries were only just beginning.

A spokesman said: “Around 5:20pm, police were called after unidentified human remains were found at an industrial estate on Whitehill Road, Glenrothes.

“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
