Investigations into the discovery of human remains in Glenrothes are continuing.

Forensic investigations are on-going at the scene at Whitehill Industrial Estate.

The remains were found on Sunday evening by a member of the public.

Police have informed families of missing Fifers, but the investigation has yet to make a formal identity.

The area around Whitehill Road remains sealed off as officers continue their probe.

The families of missing Allan Bryant Jnr and Kenneth Jones have been spoken to about the discovery.

Kenneth disappeared from his Glenrothes home in November 1998.

His case has largely disappeared from the public spotlight.

Allan was last seen leaving a friend’s engagement party.at a nightclub, Styx, on Caskieberran Road in the town in 2013.

His family have campaigned relentlessly for almost seven years to keep his name in the public eye, making regular appeals for information on a dedicated Facebook page in a bid for answers.
