Kirkcaldy man admitted stealing a car, electrical items, clothing and music equipment

A Kirkcaldy man who admitted stealing a car, electrical goods, clothing, musical equipment and other items has been sentenced to a two-year drug testing and treatment order.

Joseph Darcy, of Lawson Street, appeared before Sheriff Alison McKay at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Darcy, 38, admitted that on April 17, 2019 or April 18, 2019 at an address in Fraser Place, Dysart he stole a quantity of car and house keys, electrical items, musical equipment, a mobile telephone, toiletries, clothing, jewellery and a car.

He further admitted committing the offence while on bail having been granted bail on February 25, last year at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Darcy’s defence agent told the court his client was keen to get help for his problems and was keen to engage with services.

Sheriff McKay said Darcy’s defence agent had persuaded her not to send him to jail, so she placed him on a Drug Treatment and Testing Order for two years with a review on December 16.
