A man has been arrested and charged after stealing a diamond ring from a jeweller in Fife.

The incident was reported to the police around 3.10 pm on Tuesday, September 14 and alleged that someone had stolen a diamond ring worth a four figure sum from a shop on Leven High Street.

After a police investigation, a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged.

He is due to appear in court at a later date.

Detective Constable Alan Shovlin, of Levenmouth CID, said: "We have been able to return the ring to the owners and we would like to thank them, as well as the public, for their help and cooperation during our investigation."
