A Leven man who admitted assaulting his partner and another woman has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

Patrick McAlear, of Aitken Court, appeared before Sheriff Alistair Thornton at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

McAlear, 23, admitted that on March 14 this year at his home address he assaulted a woman by pushing her so she fell on the ground and then kicked her on the body.

He also admitted that on the same date, at the same place, he assaulted his partner by pushing her to the ground outside, kicking her on the body and seizing her mobile phone to prevent her from contacting the police.

His defence agent told the court that this was his client’s first appearance before the court and that he had nothing else outstanding.

He said McAlear was ashamed of his behaviour and that on the day he had had consumed too much alcohol.

Sheriff Thornton ordered him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
