Chief Inspector Tom Brown said: “There were fewer than a thousand followers on our local Twitter account a year ago.

“We recognised that it could be a good way to reach young people in our area, which is the seventh most deprived in the country.

“Craig put together a plan to develop the account in a progressive, imaginative way, and by speaking their language we not only grabbed their attention but that of a whole host of new people.”

Sgt Fyall said: “I am proud to serve the community of Levenmouth and the success of the twitter account is also down to them.”
