The sergeant behind a popular police Twitter account was nominated for Police Officer of the Year at the annual Scottish Policing Excellency Awards 2018.
While Sergeant Craig Fyall was pipped to the post at the event, held at the Scottish Police College in Tulliallan, he was praised for his work.
Chief Inspector Tom Brown said: “There were fewer than a thousand followers on our local Twitter account a year ago.
“We recognised that it could be a good way to reach young people in our area, which is the seventh most deprived in the country.
“Craig put together a plan to develop the account in a progressive, imaginative way, and by speaking their language we not only grabbed their attention but that of a whole host of new people.”
Sgt Fyall said: “I am proud to serve the community of Levenmouth and the success of the twitter account is also down to them.”
