Man broke bail conditions by approaching ex-partner in Kirkcaldy and behaving in an abusive manner

Moffat (38), of Ash Grove, Elgin, admitted breaking his bail conditions on September 25 this year by approaching and contacting his former partner at an address in Westwood Avenue in Kirkcaldy.

He did this having been granted bail on August 11 this year at Inverness Sheriff Court.

He further admitted that on the same date, in the same place, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that he uttered derogatory remarks. He committed the offence while on bail.

Sheriff Thornton told Moffat: “I am going to impose a Restriction of Liberty Order and I am satisfied that this is an appropriate alternative to a custodial sentence.

"I am bearing in mind the fact that you pled guilty at an early stage. I am restricting your liberty, from 7pm to 7am, for four months.”
