Man charged over £4200 drugs found in car

A man has been charged after police in Fife found £4200 worth of drugs in a car.

The 36 year-old-man has been charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act and with various other offences after Class A and Class B drugs were recovered.

Officers from the Levenmouth Community Investigation Unit attended at Wellesley Road, Methil yesterday.

They discovered 11.3 grams of Cannabis Resin, 1.5 grams of Amphetamine, 3 Diazepam tablets and 41 grams of Heroin with an approximate street value of £4200.

The man is scheduled to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today.

Constable Alex Black from the Community Investigation Unit said: “Following on from the recent pro-active successful drugs operations in the Levenmouth area further information from the public has resulted in us taking more drugs off the streets.

“Tackling drug crime is a top priority for Fife division and we continue to have a zero tolerance policy towards drug related offences.

“We will continue to deal with any offences reported to the police using every resource at our disposal.
