Man in court after armed police swarm Fife street

Brian Kinloch, 32, faces charges on petition of assault, fighting with police, and an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act, after the incident on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8.

Armed police and officers with riot shields descended on Shakespeare Avenue in Buckhaven following the alleged disturbance in a house there about 3.25 pm.

Kinloch, of Methil, who was represented by defence solicitor Dewar Spence, made neither plea nor declaration at a brief, private hearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody by Sheriff Derek Hamilton.
