Man in court charged with murdering pensioner

A man has made a second appearance in court charged with the murder of an elderly woman in Kirkcaldy.

Trevor Kidd (41) appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday, following an initial appearance on Monday, March 23.

He made no plea or declaration at this week’s court date, and was remanded in custody.

His address was given as “Kirkcaldy”, and a date for his next appearance has yet to be confirmed.

The case has been continued for further examination.

It follows the discovery of the body of a woman aged 74 at the town’s James Grove on Thursday, March 19.
