A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following an incident in Leven.

Police Scotland confirmed he will appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The 44-year old man was arrested and charged after an incident in Leven on Monday.

It happened around 5:15pm on Methil Brae when a 42 year-old man suffered stab wounds to his leg.

Officers were flagged down to tend to the mann lying injured outside a property. He is currently in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee in a critical but stable condition.

Detective Inspector Chris Mill, of Levenmouth CID, said: "Officers reacted quickly to the situation and following an investigation led by detectives alongside local uniformed officers and engagement from the community, we were able to arrest and charge a man in connection with this incident."
