A man who threatened a police officer outside a Glenrothes takeaway and threatened to break windows has had his sentence deferred.

Fraser McKinlay, of Brae Court, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

McKinlay, 38, admitted that on May 19 last year at Sunnys Kitchen takeaway in Piper Drive, Glenrothes he repeatedly shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence towards a police officer and threatened to break windows.

He admitted on the same date at Police Scotland, Holyrood Place, Dunfermline he shouted, swore and threatened police.

He admitted that on May 20 last year he attended Sunny’s Kitchen takeaway despite being subject to the bail condition not to attend or contact the business.

The Procurator Fiscal Depute said McKinlay had gone back to the takeaway on May 20 to apologise for his actions.

His defence lawyer said his use of valium was the cause of his problems but added he hadn’t used the drug for three months and was holding down a job.

Sentence deferred until April 22.
