Sentence has been deferred on a Methil man who behaved in an aggressive manner at a town shop and struggled violently with police.

William Vanbeck, of Wellesley Road, appeared before Sheriff James Williamson at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Vanbeck, 41, admitted that on July 10 this year at RS McColls in Wellesley Road, Methil he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm in that he acted aggressively and uttered derogatory comments.

He further admitted that on the same date in Wellesley Road, Methil during a journey between there and Dunfermline Police Office and at Dunfermline Police Office, he resisted, obstructed and hindered two police officers in the execution of their duty and refused to be handcuffed. He struggled violently, shouted and swore, uttered threats of violence and uttered derogatory comments.

Sheriff Williamson deferred sentence until December 3 to allow for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report.
