Murder enquiry launched after woman dies following incident in St Andrews

A murder enquiry has been launched after a woman who was involved in a serious incident in St Andrews died this morning (Tuesday).

Elizabeth Bowe (50) was pronounced dead at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

She had been found with serious injuries within a property in Bobby Jones Place, St Andrews, on Saturday (September 17).

Detective Inspector Rory Hamilton said: “This is a tragic loss and our thoughts and condolences are with Elizabeth’s loved ones.

“This investigation is now being treated as a murder enquiry and it will continue to be led by detectives from the Major Investigations Team.

“A 51-year-old man has been arrested and appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday (Monday) in connection with the incident. He has been remanded to custody.”
